Ferries to Tioman Island leave from two jetties on the east coast of Johor: Mersing and Tanjung Gemok. In November 2026, only the Mersing ferry is running; the Tanjung Gemok service is suspended for the monsoon. Below is the November timetable from Mersing in both directions, how the ferry works, and how to reach the jetty from Singapore. The timetable comes from a ferry ticket agent’s website, so always go by the ferry operator’s announcement on the day.
How the ferry to Tioman works
There are two departure points on the mainland:
- Mersing jetty, in the town of Mersing. This is the main departure point and runs through the monsoon months, subject to the weather.
- Tanjung Gemok jetty, also called Teluk Gading, further north. Its sailings stop during the monsoon.
The ferry calls at several villages on the island, including Genting, Paya, Tekek, ABC (Air Batang) and Salang. Juara is not a usual stop: get off at Tekek for Kampung Juara. Panuba is served only when there are guests for it on board. The timetable gives one departure time a day in each direction, not the time at each village, so ask at check-in when the ferry reaches yours.
Fares
The operator’s published one-way fares, per passenger, are:
| Going to | Adult | Child (under 12) |
|---|---|---|
| Genting, Paya, Tekek, ABC, Salang | MYR 60 | MYR 55 |
| Juara | MYR 85 | MYR 80 |
| Mukut | MYR 75 | MYR 70 |
The operator says these fares can change without notice. A fuel surcharge of up to 18% may be added, depending on fuel prices, and is collected at the check-in counter.
The monsoon
The north-east monsoon brings rough seas to the east coast, roughly from November to March. Sailings depend on the weather and the tide, and can be changed or cancelled at short notice. For November, the Tanjung Gemok service is suspended for the whole month, so plan on Mersing.
Book ahead
In November there is only one ferry a day in each direction, and some days have no ferry at all. Buy your ferry ticket before you travel rather than at the jetty, and plan your pickup in Singapore around the sailing time.

Source and disclaimer
Source: a ferry ticket agent's website, checked on 4 November. This is not the ferry operator's own timetable. Sailings depend on the weather and the tide and can change at short notice, so always go by the ferry operator's announcement on the day. Fares are the operator's published fares.
Getting to the jetty from Singapore
A private car from Singapore to Mersing takes about 3–4 hours, and to Tanjung Gemok about 3.5–4.5 hours, depending on checkpoint queues and traffic. In our cars you normally stay in the car through the checkpoints, so just have everyone’s passports ready to hand to the officer. For an early sailing, you may prefer to stay the night in Mersing; early-morning pickups can also be arranged, subject to availability. See our Singapore to Mersing private car page for the fares and what is included.
